Leadership and culture
Throughout my career, I’ve been passionate about sharing what I’ve learned with others and pouring into company culture. Education and mentoring continue to be a big part of my focus.
Host of the “Killer UX Writing” Podcast
In October 2025, I started a podcast to make people laugh and to highlight the good, bad and killer writing across the tech world. Over 20 episodes in, it’s been exciting to see the show gain traction with steady listener and subscriber growth.
Here are some examples of episode titles to show just how funny and creative I am so there is no doubt in your mind (since the whole point of this website is to showcase my work)…
- Hardcore Progressive Insurance Fanboyying
- Someone Get This ContextID a Cookie!
- Death of a Vibe Coder
- The UX of Cancel Flows (or Let My People Go!)
- Bandcamp Is My Valentine
Co-founded a Plain Language Initiative at Meta
At Meta, I helped start a company-wide Plain Language initiative to educate content designers and other disciplines about the value of using plain English within products, including how to evaluate and test product writing.
- After launching the initiative, it grew from six people to 70 in just a few days, proving how much people craved this type of education
- We were also creating readability measurement criteria, frameworks and building out better enterprise-level Figma tools for content designers across Meta
Launched a Writers Guild at Ramsey Solutions
In 2021, I founded a company-wide Writers Guild with over 40 writers.
- The company didn’t have a formal training system in place to teach brand, tone and voice best practices to the content team
- We met twice a month for an hour in-person
- I organized talks and training sessions so writers felt educated and empowered to do their best work
- It grew so popular that non-writers started attending to learn more
Started a Design Review at WebMD Health Services
When I started at WebMD Health Services, there was no regular cadence of design critique and review meetings. So I worked with my manager to explain the value and get one started!
- We met at least once a week for an hour
- The quality of everyone’s work got better with a regular meeting on the books to review design and copy
- Design Crits were also a fun and social way to break up the day!
